I. We’re all born naked
We’re All Born Naked explores the pursuit of expressive freedom, the breaking away from expectations, and the unlearning of shame.
Through self-portraiture and performance, this project is a search for my most liberated, ultimate self — an identity unbound by norms, societal expectations, or internalized shame. The studio becomes my safe, secluded space — a setting free from audience and judgment. Here, the self-portrait becomes performance: a stage for metamorphosis, experimentation, and resistance.
By presenting myself in shifting forms, I give space to aspects of my identity that I had previously repressed. Alongside photography, I incorporate video and textiles into this project. Using textiles as a medium allows me not only to explore the dynamics of concealment and revelation, but also to give tangible form to the fragility of the body.
This interplay of image and material invites reflection on how we perceive ourselves — and how we wish to be seen.
